The Bedroom After
A few weeks ago I had the chance to go to California to see my client Vicki and do a whirlwind redesign of her bedroom. We were short on time and had a limited budget, but it was a lot of fun! Here is what it looked like when I arrived:
The bedroom before...yipes!In her words:
“I asked Reiko to fly to San Francisco and redesign my bedroom. Before Reiko arrived I tried many sample colors on the walls and just had no idea how to start. I wanted a Wow bedroom that was beautiful and calming and that’s what I got! Reiko applied Feng Shui and moved furniture to its best position. Then we selected paint, wallpaper and revamped my furniture. Not only is my bedroom beautiful but I find I’m sleeping a lot better – and as strange as it may sound I feel happier! I’d rehire Reiko in a minute for my next design job.”
I am thrilled that the new furniture arrangement has helped Vicki sleep. To keep costs down, we revamped much of her existing furniture. Here are some of the quick fixes:
We replaced the glass fronts of this Ikea dresser with mirrors, and added glass pulls.

There is a lot you can do in a weekend!Sweet dreams…

WinaLove it, especially the light fixture.

kristinand you got rid of the TV in the bedroom, right?
http://www.reikodesign.comReiko GomezHi Kristin, I reduced the size and hid it from view. Taking the TV out of the bedroom is tricky for many people. For me, the key is to make sure the focus of the bedroom is romance, and I think we did that. Thanks for the comment!
