I’ve confessed here before that I’ve never read a graphic novel, and that still holds true. It’s not for lack of desire—I’ll be reading at least one for my Fountain 360 in 365 project and another for a future Bookrageous episode—but I just never seem to get around to it. And I never feel like I know where to start!
Lucky for me—and for you, if you’re in the same boat—Josh, Jenn, bookseller Emily Pullen, and Paul Montgomery (from iFanboy) are graphic novel pros, and they recorded a fantastic podcast all about where to start with graphic novels and how to find the ones that might line up with your existing reading taste.
Listen, enjoy, and subscribe…and if you feel like writing an iTunes review to make it easier for folks to find us, that’d be just swell.

And The Arrival knocks your socks off. But what about Stitches? Or Pyongyang? Maus? Or Stephen King’s The Stand, transformed for maximum visual enjoyment? My life is better with Graphic Novels in it!

A couple of podcasts ago, I think it was Josh who recommended “good eggs”. This was a touching, funny, heartbreaking and heartwarming tale of a woman going through infertility treatments, but also so much more about her life. One thing to recommend: I have an Kindle app on my phone and it is too small to appreciate a graphic novel – too small to even see some of it so get the regular book instead.
In general, I love these podcasts…I have tried books I never would have considered before….
I don’t mean to inject myself into Rebecca’s comment threat, but … Jessica, I’m so glad you liked Good Eggs! It was one of my favorite books of last year.
